While all the parts visible from the front are plain weave (the same as regular shirts), the reverse side is a fabric with a pile unique to towels.The 80 count ultrafine yarn is used, and the pile is about 1mm, so it is light and comfortable to wear without being stiff.

The pile keeps a good amount of air between the fabric and the skin, keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter.
